Theme: From Rebellion to Exile

The fall units explore three key questions: What is idolatry? What is repentance? and What makes people special?
In addition to studying the verses, children play Bible Jeopardy, complete with prizes!

Unit 13: The People Disobey
Idolatry is a sin of the heart in which we love and value something else above God.
Session 1: Jeroboam disobeyed God (1 Kings 12-13)
Session 2: Elijah served as a prophet (1 Kings 16-18)
Session 3: Elisha served as a prophet (2 Kings 2)
Session 4: Elisha performed miracles (2 Kings 4-6)
Session 5*: We are to worship God alone (Isaiah 44)

Unit 14: Warnings to the People
Repentance is turning away from sin and turning to Jesus.
Session 1: Joash wanted to obey God (2 Kings 12, 2 Chronicles 24)
Session 2: Isaiah warned of God’s judgment (Isaiah 22 & 48)
Session 3: Zephaniah warned God’s people to repent (Zephaniah)
Session 4*: We are to repent of sin (Matthew 3)

Unit 15: Into Captivity
People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him.
Session 1: Jonah warned of God’s judgment (Jonah)
Session 2: Nahum warned of God’s judgment (Nahum)
Session 3: God’s people were taken captive (2 Chronicles 36)
Session 4*: Every person matters (Psalm 139)
